Jesus opponents brought a woman caught in the act of adultery, to put Him in a position of upholding the Jewish law and challenging Roman Authority, but Jesus was fully aware of their intentions. If they were honest they would have brought the man involved also to be sentenced to death. Jesus knew that her accusers were not with out sin in their own lives. Jesus released her from her sins and she was free to lead a new life. John 8
