REVELATION Date A.D. 95

The Apostle John wrote Revelation, the final Book of The Bible also known as the Apocalypse, during the time of Roman persecution. Christians were refusing to call Caesar their Lord.

Revelation means to reveal, unveiling, the disclosure of Jesus Christ.

The book was uniquely written to strengthen believers to be faithful to Jesus during this time of emperor cult-worship. Throughout time Satan will increase the persecution of believers even though they are spiritually sealed against harm, believers must at all cost be faithful as Jesus was faithful even unto physical death. It deals with the past, present and future.

The Book is the only prophetic Book is the New Testament and is a rich portrait of the Triune God. God The Ancient of Days and The Son of Man is seen as One person with The Holy Spirit. The number seven is used fifty-two times which is symbolic for completeness. Revelation is a book of fulfillment. The text centres around visions and symbols of the Resurrected Christ who alone has all authority. It is a book that promises a blessing to those who read it and hear. Christ, who is The Spirit of Prophecy, is the theme of this Book. Many avoid this book but many also closely study its contents. It presents an evil world followed by a glorious future for the faithful. The literature is a distinct type of writing incorporating symbolism mainly from the Old Testament. Almost 300 of the 400 verses have a connection to the Old Testament.

This universal individual work is the last of twenty-seven Books of The New Testament.

REVELATION 1:18
" I AM THE LIVING ONE, I WAS DEAD AND BEHOLD I AM ALIVE FOREVER AND EVER "

Jesus returned to heaven in order to establish His Kingdom, having completed His mission and work amongst mankind, so that many may follow Him. In contrast to the dead idols and gods of men, Christ processes life in Himself, in His basic nature. He conquered death and can never die again. Death has no control over Him. He has absolute authority over death and the grave. The glory of Jesus Christ reflects the glory of God The Father and He is referring to His Eternal existence and His absolute control. Jesus Christ has triumphed over and has disarmed all the powers of evil.

Believers share in His victory through belief in Who He is. Jesus is victorious over temptation, sin, over satanic evil spirits, all powers and authorities in both the spiritual and physical realm and over death. His victory is of great assurance for believers. Christ, The Living One never changes. It was through the Death and Resurrection of Jesus that gave Him the victory. He is the one who has the Keys, for the Christian, they know they share Christ's inheritance and blessings including a glorified body.
