MALACHI Minor Prophet of Post-exile era date 432-425 B.C.

The Book of Malachi displays a continual use of questions asked by God because His people had forgotten His love towards them. Malachi was God's prophet in Jerusalem.

Malachi means My Messenger

The Book of Malachi is the bridge between the Old Testament of God and The New Testament of His Word. God's Word reminded The Jews that they were His chosen nation, but also of their disobedience, beginning with The Temple Priests. The Covenant promises and relationship had been broken and a day of reckoning would come. God appeals to His Covenant people for repentance so that His blessings could be poured out upon them. A prophecy concerns a messenger that shall be called to prepare the way of the Coming Saviour.

This last book with commanding language of The Old Testament ends with a curse.

The Book of the prophet Malachi is the third Book dealing with the Post-exilic era and is twelve and last Book of the Minor Prophetical Books. The text includes Post-exile History and is the last Book of The Old Testament.

God's glory and righteousness will shine like the sun bringing to His faithful people salvation, goodness, forgiveness and blessings. God's people will leap for joy like calves released from being penned in their stall; they shall be set free.

God sent His Word through His prophet Malachi, rebuking the people because they doubted His Love. Believers who hold God in awe and wonder respond to Him in obedience. Only through repentance and reformation would Israel experience God's blessings and awareness of Him. He would send a messenger to prepare the way of The Coming Messiah. The dawn was about to break with Light. God remained faithful to His Word to send a Saviour. Salvation is the rescue of the whole person.

Christ is compared to a rising sun with radiant beams of light stretching outward in all directions, healing the entire soul of those who have sinned and welcomed Him.

Jesus Christ, the promised deliver sets His people free from the effects of sin and from the power of bondage, sin and will finally deliver them from the presence of sin.

Jesus Christ sets His people free from the law and its condemnation.
