JUDE Date A.D. 65-80

Jesus' earthly brother, Jude, another natural son of Mary and Joseph, wrote the Book of Jude.

Jude is a form of the Hebrew name Judah.

The letter is a general letter against heresy and false teachers. It was written to warn believers about immoral teachers who pervert the Grace of God. It is essential that believers have the knowledge about the truth of the Grace of God.

False teachers were using deceptive flattery and infiltrating the Christian members and the Book of Jude denounces apostate teachers telling of their final doom. The warnings continue to be appropriate for the Church today.

The text reminds believers of the danger of the previously unbelieving and the rebellious, both in the spiritual and physical realm and warns believers not to be caught off guard. The false teachers do not have the Spirit of God.

The reference work of Jude has been accepted as authentic since the beginning of the early Church, although it does quote pre-Christian Jewish works, which are not classed as canon.

The Book of Jude is the last of seven Church Letters. This universal work is also considered a Book containing teaching. It is also the twenty-sixth of twenty-seven Books of The New Testament.

JUDE 1:24 '
" TO HIM WHO IS ABLE TO KEEP YOU FROM FALLING, AND TO PRESENT YOU BEFORE HIS GLORIOUS PRESENCE WITHOUT FAULT AND WITH GREAT JOY. TO THE ONLY GOD AND SAVIOUR, BE GLORY, MAJESTY, POWER AND AUTHORITY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD, BEFORE ALL AGES NOW AND FOREVERMORE "

The verse quoted is called a doxology. A doxology is words that offer praise to God for His work and is a benediction. God is the Creator and Redeemer of mankind who revealed Himself in Jesus Christ. Scripture endorses God's total reliability and trustworthiness. God is the Father of all believers. God's knowledge ensures that He knows those who are His. God's nature, deeds and faithfulness are incomparable for which He deserves all praise. All His deeds are great, His love, His mercy and His kindness makes Him unique. God is perfect, holy, righteously active and His attributes are expressed through His actions. His perfect loyalty is true to His Name and His Word.

God is fully able to keep those who put their trust in Him, and keep them faithful for He guarantees He will bring those who do rely on Him into His Presence, and give them everlasting joy. God bestows on upon His believing people righteousness through Jesus Christ, shielding them from His wrath, and forgiving them because of His Grace. The promises of God are a reminder of the power of God. Christians will stand before God. Glory to God can only be given properly through Jesus Christ.
