An angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him that Mary's pregnancy was a miraculous act of The Holy Spirit. He was told by the angel she shall have a Son and you shall name Him Jesus, meaning Saviour, for He will save His people from their sins. The Holy One born will be called The Son of God. Jesus also inherits a legal right to Israel's throne through Joseph, his surrogate father as well as Mary, fulfilling prophecies of Isaiah 7:14, 11:1, 9:6-7, Jeremiah 23:5. Joseph did what the angel commanded and took Mary home as his wife.
