THE HOLY SPIRIT FREELY GIVEN
FRUITS, GIFTS AND OFFICES
The Holy Spirit Gifts shaped the Church on Pentecost day 50 days after Jesus' Resurrection. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to His believers on that day, from God, the Father. The Church was formed as The Living Temple of God, the believers being the Living Stones, for the Holy Spirit indwells the believers that are born again.
The Holy Spirit brought direction to the Body of Christ by gifts, grace,
favour, the source for good advantages for the church to benefit from His
anointing of infilling, and refreshing.
The Gifts of The Holy Spirit are special endowment to enlarge the work of Christ on earth and display the supernatural power of God. All three persons of the Trinity Godhead are involved in these gifts, graces and anointings.
The Holy Spirit abides forever. He is the third person of the Triune Godhead. He indwells believers, infills believers, produces fruit in believers, believers are sealed by Him which gives assurance of salvation. He strengthens the inner-man and directs, guides, leads a believer's steps in life.
The Holy Spirit equips believers in revelation, instruction, and
empowering with Christ's Truths. He helps the believer's communication with The
Father in prayer, worship, praise and thanksgiving. He quickens God's Word to
believers.
The supremacy of The Gifts of The Holy Spirit empowers believers to
reveal the sovereignty of God to the world. His power enables believers to
serve God in many areas and build the Christian character.
The authority of The Holy Spirit and His Gifts strengthen the Body as a whole. His gifts are seen in the Church’s mission of witnessing and preaching. His gifts are seen in apostolic ministry, in signs and wonders.
The ability
of The Holy Spirit is seen in the life of Jesus.
Jesus was conceived by The Holy Spirit-During the ministry of Jesus, He was
anointed by The Holy Spirit- Jesus was led by The Holy Spirit-He was filled by
The Holy Spirit-Jesus accomplished His ministry through The Holy Spirit-He
offered Himself at the cross through The Holy Spirit-His commandments were and
given through The Holy Spirit. Jesus offered the supernatural gifts to His
followers.
Jesus is
The Baptizer of The Holy Spirit. The
Holy Spirit's dwelling presence is a pledge to the believer for future
inheritance and gives assurance to them of their right standing in Christ and
of their eternal salvation.
The Holy Spirit's own ministry is to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and judgement and to the believers His ministry is peace and truth.
ALL
SPIRITUAL GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT DO EXALT JESUS
and are to be an advantage to the Church.
A believer produces the Fruits of The
Holy Spirit, which are Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness,
Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control.
Personal
Infilling Gifts of The Holy Spirit
1 Corinthians 14:1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts,
especially the gift of prophecy. 2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not
speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries
with his spirit. 3 But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their
strengthening, encouragement and comfort. 4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies
himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
The Gifts of The Holy Spirit
listed here are mainly ministry gifts for public use but also for private use
as The Spirit leads.
1Corinthians 12:1-14
12:1 Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant.
2 You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and
led astray to mute idols.
3 Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says,
"Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord,"
except by the Holy Spirit.
4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the
same Spirit.
5 There are different kinds of service, but the
same Lord.
6 There are different kinds of working, but the
same God works all of them in all men.
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
8 To one there is given through the Spirit the
message of wisdom, to another the
message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
9 to another faith by the same Spirit,
to another gifts of healing by that one
Spirit,
10 to another miraculous powers, to
another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
11 All these are the work of one and the same
Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines. 12 The
body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts
are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.
13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into
one body--whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free--and we were all given the one
Spirit to drink.
14 Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.
All
Christians are appointed to edify the church and encourage others in love.
Gifts of The Holy Spirit are generous provisions of need which assist and help
those in the Body of Christ in various ways through a great diversity of divine
gifts. Believers are the beneficiaries of this graciousness of God’s endowment.
God gives individuals certain gifts of a spiritual nature of fulfilling
specific tasks and they are to continually to desire greater spiritual gifts.
The purpose of supernatural gifts is their
use for the good of all.
Everyone is accountable for every Gift given, and all Gifts are to be tested by doctrine in the scriptures of God.
