CHRIST'S SECOND COMING
AND BELIEVERS

Jesus' Return is the Hope of The Church, and believers are told to be watchful, and to pray for His Coming. Jesus will return visibly as promised, and in glory, to raise the dead, judge the world, destroy all opposition to God and consummate His Kingdom. His return is foretold in Scripture.

Jesus often spoke about His return and those who eagerly awaited His return, recorded prophecies of this event, John 14:3, Acts 11 and Hebrews 9:28. It is not an attitude of His teaching or a lifestyle of love and forgiveness but The Lord Jesus Himself who will return and end all bondages.

Believers wait with eagerness and joy in expectation of His return to vindicate the just. then Eternity in Christ will no longer be hidden from human sight.

Believers are to be faithful and to use any talents (our abilities), the Lord has given, for an account of use is required.

God's Word is Eternal, His Word is divinely inspired, is for a lost world, is faultless, is the source of light, life, absolute truth, provides food for the soul, cleansing, produces fruit, gives peace, a sword, the power of God. Christ is to plead for His people's cause. Christ just judgement when He comes is to avenge His persecuted people of every age. Belief in Him is what Jesus looks for.

Believers are to be alert, not spiritually asleep or apathetic, for the realization of full Salvation is at Jesus' Second Coming, and it is a crucial time in history. The appearing of Christ ushers in the close of The Kingdom of this age.

The Assurance of the Second Coming of Christ strengthens and encourages believers in times of trial and persecution, for faithfully bearing up and standing in the Belief of The Truths of Christ will result in rewards from Christ at His Return.

The Teaching of The Return of Christ to the earth is a warning to the ungodly and also provokes the Church into Evangelism and making disciples of the Nations as Christ commanded.

There will continue to be outpourings of Gifts of The Holy Spirit on believers, whether Jew or Gentile, bestowed upon all people that believe the Truth and look for Christ's Return, meaning sons, daughters, old men, young men, women and children, irrespective of sex, age or rank, which began on Pentecost Day.

There also will be apostasy and lack of faith. Many people will get caught up in the goods things of this life and neglect to be watchful. Jesus prompted His followers to remember Lot's wife. Christians are to be doing, to be ready for Christ's return. Long term projects are still to be carried on, for no-one will know the day or the hour. His coming will be abruptly and unexpected at a time that all will be taken by surpass. His coming will be suddenly, as in the days of the flood, suddenly judgement and salvation was executed. As at Sodom and Gomorrah, suddenly judgement and salvation came unexpectedly.

Signs to watch for Christ's return are false prophets, signs in the heavens, preaching throughout the nations, famines, earthquakes, wars and rumours of wars. This is life in general continuing on with exceptions of the odd in the heavens. All other occurrences happen throughout each generation, which alerts believers to be ever watchful for the time of the Gentiles to come to an end.

There will be great persecution of believers, at test of faith for believers; they will face hardship, ridicule and oppression from individuals and authorities, mainly from the world, its earthly governments, religious authorities, families and friends. The motive for this persecution is satanic, with envy, fear and hatred. They will be ridicule, ostracism, violence and threats that will be carried out. Believers are to adopt the same attitudes as Jesus in the face of persecution.

Disciples are to continue living holy and forgiving lives relying upon God's Grace, trusting in His presence, knowing the victory is sure. Those who suffer for righteousness sake will not go unrewarded.

Innocent people suffer because of corrupt officials that have placed in authority by corrupt friends. God guides the decisions of national rulers: He is able to do this for He truly knows their motives. It is useless for unbelievers to fight against God and it is useless for believers to fight the fight of faith without Him. Oppression will be punished but generosity will be rewarded.

Believer's are told to be patient, and stand firm, until the Lord's Second Coming, similar to how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient the farmer is for the autumn and spring rains.

The Truth of Christ will be a powerful witness before the end times and many people will return to The Truth of The Word of God. Once Jesus' Divinity is accepted, this revelation leads further into The Truth.

There will be a continual inflow of believers into the Kingdom of God. As sin increases throughout mankind, so will holiness increase throughout God's people.

All true believers will be One In Christ, and these faithful disciples will inherit what has been promised, which is absolutely trustworthy to accept; this will come to pass.

Being One in Christ is not just unity or a matter of a loving attitude or feeling, but of Truth, a common understanding about God's Son and maturity in discipleship based upon this Truth, all being in submission to Christ, the Head of His Church. Believers are not to grumble against each other, or they will be faced with judgement about it.

God's people will work together and the Body of Christ will be built up and continue to mature in unity, love, purity, selflessness, in faithfulness, gentleness, in all the fruits of The Spirit of God corporately until Christ, Who is Perfection comes. Believers should live lives of godliness, blamelessness and of steadfastness.

At the end, before Christ's coming the times will be perilous. He knows there will be few that will have trust in His return. He comes for the relief of His people as He did for His First Coming, but will He find many willing to trust in Him returning?

His own people despair of His Coming and the wicked shall challenge Him to come. His people will be tempted to falter and doubt and perhaps also conclude that He will never come.

His time to appear for His people is when things are brought to the last extreme and declare that He has forsaken them. Unbelief however will not delay the promise of His Coming.

A Victorious Church will be made perfect without spot or blemish upon the instant arrival of Christ.

THE RESURRECTED BODY

The Living Bible Translation 1 Corinthians 15:35-58

35 But someone may ask, "How will the dead be brought back to life again? What kind of bodies will they have?" 36 What a foolish question! You will find the answer in your own garden! When you put a seed into the ground it doesn't grow into a plant unless it "dies" first. 37 And when the green shoot comes up out of the seed, it is very different from the seed you first planted. For all you put into the ground is a dry little seed of wheat or whatever it is you are planting, 38 then God gives it a beautiful new body--just the kind he wants it to have; a different kind of plant grows from each kind of seed. 39 And just as there are different kinds of seeds and plants, so also there are different kinds of flesh. Humans, animals, fish, and birds are all different. 40 The angels in heaven have bodies far different from ours, and the beauty and the glory of their bodies is different from the beauty and the glory of ours. 41 The sun has one kind of glory while the moon and stars have another kind. And the stars differ from each other in their beauty and brightness. 42 In the same way, our earthly bodies which die and decay are different from the bodies we shall have when we come back to life again, for they will never die. 43 The bodies we have now embarrass us, for they become sick and die; but they will be full of glory when we come back to life again. Yes, they are weak, dying bodies now, but when we live again they will be full of strength. 44 They are just human bodies at death, but when they come back to life they will be superhuman bodies. For just as there are natural, human bodies, there are also supernatural, spiritual bodies. 45 The Scriptures tell us that the first man, Adam, was given a natural, human body but Christ is more than that, for he was life-giving Spirit. 46 First, then, we have these human bodies, and later on God gives us spiritual, heavenly bodies. 47 Adam was made from the dust of the earth, but Christ came from heaven above. 48 Every human being has a body just like Adam's, made of dust, but all who become Christ's will have the same kind of body as his--a body from heaven. 49 Just as each of us now has a body like Adam's, so we shall some day have a body like Christ's. 50 I tell you this, my brothers: an earthly body made of flesh and blood cannot get into God's Kingdom. These perishable bodies of ours are not the right kind to live forever. 51 But I am telling you this strange and wonderful secret: we shall not all die, but we shall all be given new bodies! 52 It will all happen in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For there will be a trumpet blast from the sky, and all the Christians who have died will suddenly become alive, with new bodies that will never, never die; and then we who are still alive shall suddenly have new bodies too. 53 For our earthly bodies, the ones we have now that can die, must be transformed into heavenly bodies that cannot perish but will live forever. 54 When this happens, then at last this Scripture will come true-- "Death is swallowed up in victory." 55 O death, where then your victory? Where then your sting? For sin--the sting that causes death--will all be gone; and the law, which reveals our sins, will no longer be our judge. 56 57 How we thank God for all of this! It is he who makes us victorious through Jesus Christ our Lord! 58 So, my dear brothers, since future victory is sure, be strong and steady, always abounding in the Lord's work, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever wasted as it would be if there were no resurrection.

Adam's character brought mankind under the power of death, and the Principles and Laws of God revealed sin and condemned sin.

Christ's Victory over condemnation was also over spiritual and physical death, through His Death and Resurrection. He took upon Himself our sin and blame and set free mankind and offered the New Life in The Spirit of God.

Because of His Resurrection, service to Him is not in vain and He will willingly reward disciples at His Return.

The Redeemed will have a spiritual body, physical, yet imperishable, without corruption and adaptable to be able to live with God forever.

God takes a perishable, disreputable body, weak and sinful, a natural body and makes it a glorious, powerful body fit to live with Him.

Those who are alive at this time in history will not die, but their physical bodies will be immediately transformed into spiritual /physical/supernatural, deathless bodies.

This instantaneous catching away of believers is called 'The Rapture', and believer's are to live in anticipation for Christ Return, for He is returning for His saints (believers). At the Second Coming of Christ, believers who are still living will not experience death.

THE COMING OF THE LORD.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11 .The Living Bible

13 And now, dear brothers, I want you to know what happens to a Christian when he dies so that when it happens, you will not be full of sorrow, as those are who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and then came back to life again, we can also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him all the Christians who have died. 15 I can tell you this directly from the Lord: that we who are still living when the Lord returns will not rise to meet him ahead of those who are in their graves. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a mighty shout and with the soul-stirring cry of the archangel and the great trumpet-call of God. And the believers who are dead will be the first to rise to meet the Lord. 17 Then we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever. 18 So comfort and encourage each other with this news. 5:1 When is all this going to happen? I really don't need to say anything about that, dear brothers, 2 for you know perfectly well that no one knows. That day of the Lord will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. 3 When people are saying, "All is well; everything is quiet and peaceful"--then, all of a sudden, disaster will fall upon them as suddenly as a woman's birth pains begin when her child is born. And these people will not be able to get away anywhere--there will be no place to hide. 4 But, dear brothers, you are not in the dark about these things, and you won't be surprised as by a thief when that day of the Lord comes. 5 For you are all children of the light and of the day, and do not belong to darkness and night. 6 So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Watch for his return and stay sober. 7 Night is the time for sleep and the time when people get drunk. 8 But let us who live in the light keep sober, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the happy hope of salvation. 9 For God has not chosen to pour out his anger upon us but to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ; 10 he died for us so that we can live with him forever, whether we are dead or alive at the time of his return. 11 So encourage each other to build each other up, just as you are already doing.

When a believer dies physically, the body goes to the grave, but the spirit is returned to God, awaiting the time of the resurrected body.

The Day of The Lord is a Day of Judgement, but it is also The Day of Redemption, when Salvation of the saints is complete and the climax of all things before The Reign of Christ, during the Millennium.

To stay awake is to stay within God's boundaries, His morals and His principles, for believers have entered into a covenant relationship with God, which nothing can destroy.

Believers do not live in the darkness and God has not appointed unto His Family, His Wrath; it is His choice and His mercy. We live in The nature of God's Light to the World, Christ.

Christ will return literally and visibly, bodily, in the same procedure as He went, with His Holy Ones accompanying Him. He will return in Great Glory, The Glory of God, The Father.

It will be sudden for those who are unaware and do not believe in The Truth; destruction will come to them, not annihilation, but the removal from The Lord's Presence.

It will be the same Jesus, that walked the earth and who was crucified that will return, not another. He said himself that he will personally come and receive His saints, for them to be with Him forever.

The Gospel of Christ and The Kingdom of God will be preached in the whole world as a witness to the nations, then the end of this age will come.

He will return at The Father's appointed time and no-one will know the exact day or date or hour, but believers are told to watch for the signs, the times and the seasons.

Those who 'date set' and prophesy the day Christ is to return, cause people to mock God's Word.

CONCERNING THE MAN OF LAWLESSNESS

2 Thessalonians 2:1-17 The Living Bible Translation

2:1 And now, what about the coming again of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to meet him? Please don't be upset and excited, dear brothers, 2 by the rumor that this day of the Lord has already begun. If you hear of people having visions and special messages from God about this, or letters that are supposed to have come from me, don't believe them. 3 Don't be carried away and deceived regardless of what they say. For that day will not come until two things happen: first, there will be a time of great rebellion against God, and then the man of rebellion will come--the son of hell. 4 He will defy every god there is and tear down every other object of adoration and worship. He will go in and sit as God in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God. 5 Don't you remember that I told you this when I was with you? 6 And you know what is keeping him from being here already; for he can come only when his time is ready. 7 As for the work this man of rebellion and hell will do when he comes, it is already going on, but he himself will not come until the one who is holding him back steps out of the way. 8 Then this wicked one will appear, whom the Lord Jesus will burn up with the breath of his mouth and destroy by his presence when he returns. 9 This man of sin will come as Satan's tool, full of satanic power, and will trick everyone with strange demonstrations, and will do great miracles. 10 He will completely fool those who are on their way to hell because they have said no to the Truth; they have refused to believe it and love it and let it save them, 11 so God will allow them to believe lies with all their hearts, 12 and all of them will be justly judged for believing falsehood, refusing the Truth, and enjoying their sins. 13 But we must forever give thanks to God for you, our brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose from the very first to give you salvation, cleansing you by the work of the Holy Spirit and by your trusting in the Truth. 14 Through us he told you the Good News. Through us he called you to share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 With all these things in mind, dear brothers, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the truth that we taught you in our letters and during the time we were with you. 16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting comfort and hope, which we don't deserve, 17 comfort your hearts with all comfort, and help you in every good thing you say and do.

There will also be great apostasy, many turning away from The Belief in Christ because of rebellion caused through the Antichrist, who opposes all things of God.

The revealing of the Antichrist will be something that is supernatural.

Many people think he is not a political or military man, but claims a place above God and everything associated with worship. He sets himself up and makes blasphemous pronouncements and the deception of miracles is done by false impressions. For all His conceited demands his overthrow is very sure and certain.

Christians do not suffer the Wrath of Christ or The Wrath of God.

Judgement is associated with the imminence of Christ's Second Coming as well as comfort and security. God has loved, cared and done a sanctifying work in all who believe; He has prepared them all for His Salvation.

The purpose of Christ's Royal Return for believers is to vindicate to His righteous people, to transform believers into His likeness to reward believers and to gather believers together.

The completion of the believer's salvation will occur at Christ's Second Coming. There will be a separation from God for unbelievers. Believers share the hope of resurrected bodies as promised by Christ. Believers receive glory and great enjoyment in the presence of God. God will abolish death.

God controls the future, only He can reveal it. The hope of believers is guaranteed, Jesus Christ will come again. His coming introduces the last days of humankind.
